FAQs

How much is it?

The cost of a table per day is £50.00  - so that's £50 for one day, £100 for two days and £150 for all three days. NB - we will only be asking for payment from successful applicants, and much nearer the time

What else does the fee cover?

Maker profiles and product images on the Blue Magpie & Elmslie House website and this will also feature a permanent online directory for makers.

We have free WiFi.

Regular Facebook & Instagram posts - both of individual makers and products and also group posts - with your product images accessible to the Elmslie House (@elmsliehousemalvern) and Blue Magpie FB followers and Instagram followers too (@bluemagpiecraft)

Regional and National advertising in local newspapers, journals and websites, and other publications (i.e Creates Magazine).

How does the fee get spent?

Your fee goes to fund the advertising, marketing and promotion of the Fair. We now produce an A5 brochure that visitors take away with a floor plan, and your details. If anyone would like to place an advert in this brochure, we’ll be in touch to those exhibiting and offering a range of sizes and placement.

And what about the cake?

The fee covers a token for a Cup of Tea/Coffee and another token for a piece of Cake to enjoy and make it a really lovely day out with fellow makers!

You’ll receive one of each token each morning that you are showing. If you still need a top up, we have two tearooms serving homemade cakes (one of which serves light lunches) at reasonable prices.

How do we cover our costs?

We now ask for an entry fee of £3 for every visitor (children free) which allows them to attend over the whole weekend. This helps to cover our staffing costs and contributes to the other costs involved running the Fair. We also run a tearoom which helps us break even.

Who can apply and when will we know if we have been selected?

We’re interested in all areas of Craft and Design, so don’t be shy! Anna carefully reviews every application and takes the wider view on how many of one craft can be on show at anyone time. We look for professional makers, so do ensure your photos do your work justice.

There are lot’s of factors considered when deciding on who to accept, so if you didn’t manage to get a place do try again. Join our mailing list to find out when we open applications for the next fair.
