Sarah Nicol – Pottery

Sarah Nicol has a BA (hons) in surface pattern from SCAT in Taunton 1996 and then an MA in textiles from Bath in 2008.

In 2009 her potter partner made some pieces for her to decorate. She painted the simple folk art designs she had been making in her textiles. This collection of homeware has been popular ever since.

In 2016 she started to develop the Fish range. A lifelong love of drawing and embroidering fish meant it came naturally to paint them on the pottery.

Unlike the Folk Art range they have a glossy transparent glaze bringing life to shoals of fish swimming in swirling cobalt blue on mugs, jugs, bowls and vases.

In 2018 she launched “Aquarium” a range of vases with bright colours and gold lustre.

Her colourful collection of functional hand-thrown and individually hand painted earthenware bowls, vases, mugs and jugs mostly have a nautical theme and sit nicely with the textiles that inspired them .

Sarah will be here on Sunday 18th November, 11.00 – 4.00pm
