Mauri Ann Beardshaw – Jewellery

Mauri Ann Beardshaw is a BA graduate of Jewellery Design and Related Products from the Birmingham School of Jewellery. She was encouraged to take an experimental approach to designing making contemporary jewellery and objects. A Birmingham girl, Mauri has always been interested in science and the natural world. She has recently moved to the old market town of Wellington in Shropshire and lives on the edge of Dothill nature reserve where she is surrounded by wildlife. Her current collection is inspired by diatoms that she has collected and studied under her microscope. Diatoms are a species of plankton which have a silica shell that is intricately detailed. Her jewellery and boxes made from pierced silver and featuring warm glowing laser cut acrylic elements explore diatoms exquisite detail depth and pattern.

Mauri will be here on Sunday 18th November, 11.00 – 4.00pm
